There are a few books that I personally recommend on content creation. <Content Rules> is one of them. Today, I would like to introduce some of the contents introduced in <Content Rules>. In the book, the content was introduced as a 'blogging guideline'.

12 Tips for engaging Blogging

1. Set Goals: It is essential to set clear goals when starting blogging. The goal of blogging is the reason for blogging and also the motivation that drives you to stay active.
2. Establish an actionable schedule: In order for blogging to be sustainable, it must be possible to continuously operate a blog, and it must also be able to produce content continuously. To do that, you need to make a 'promise you can keep'. Establishing an actionable schedule is essential for sustainability. Set up a schedule that you can stick to, even once a week.
3. Mix different posts: Stop the compulsion to rewrite every post. Like curation, which is a recent trend, you can create novel posts just by grouping and reorganizing the contents of different posts in a meaningful way.
4. Find a way to express it other than text: Although text is still the most preferred form of expression in search engines, it is not the case with readers. Even if it is not text, you can express your desired message with images, webtoons, and short videos.
5. Keep it a reasonable length: Remember that blog subscribers are subscribing to content on digital displays such as mobile or PC. It is difficult to look at the screen for a long time on a digital display. Adjust the length of your content by one or two mouse scrolls to ease the visual burden on your readers.
6. Give it a strong title: An attractive title will drive clicks. An attractive title is essential to grab people's attention among the numerous links and web pages.

7. Don't ignore the design: Isn't there a saying that good looking rice cakes are good to eat? Well-organized content and blog design give readers pleasure.
8. Use phrases or gadgets to get your customers to take action: If you want to move people through your blog, if you want to have a meaningful impact on them, insert phrases that drive them to action. They will reward you with action.
9. Manage comments: Although the amount has decreased compared to the past, comments are still a meaningful communication tool. Reply to meaningful comments and quickly delete spam comments. Through the management of comments, people will know whether the blog is running or not, and how active it is.
10. Categorize and tag all posts by category: Organizing and tagging categories is cumbersome, but necessary. Blog readers aren't idle enough to read all of your blog posts. Provide organized categories and tags so that they can quickly and easily find the article they are looking for. It will make your blog feel more professional.
11. Write as you say: Although it depends on the topic of the blog and the way it is run, the best colloquial language is the blog tone that makes people feel close. Talk like you speak and reach out to people. You can approach it much more friendly than a hard way of speaking.
12. Don't worry too much: The key to blogging is steady operation. Continue to introduce even small topics. It's better to keep blogging, even if it's a trivial topic, than to leave the blog unattended after worrying about it. Take action rather than think.
